Vincenzo - Yes, it's been brought up before but not too many were/are intersted ( time constraints I am sure).
I am (very interested in) developing a configurable virus scanning mailet. I am in communications with Norman to get at there API. The idea is to allow for the server-side automated update of the virus DAT file and engine (when necesaary) from one point. I am not familiar with Runtime.Exec but will look into them. What are you looking for as far as configurations are concerned ?? alan > It may be an older question (I went through the list but > didn't find anything - forgive me otherwise): has anybody > been thinking or talking about writing a configurable > mailet that invokes (Runtime.exec?) a commercial antivirus > like McAfee to check the files enclosed in a message? > and/or blocks .pif/.scr/.vbs etc enclosed files? > > Would it be feasible or make sense?
