What are you saying???

Should the apache group develop things for free for people who complain
more than they contribute. Isn't THAT a bit delusional? How can you
suggest "in the end if you don't enjoy it you need to find something else
to do." I hope I somehow misunderstood what you were saying. But I found
that offensive.

What are you trying to do to us?

Yes, apache products take more time to install, more time to configure,
you have to undersand more about what's happening on your machine, and
there are fewer tools to help you.

The beauty of the apache project is that the users contribute time and
energy to it, rather than cash, and that's how it keeps up with the big
money games. The way it looks to me, the focus of our favorite
development team is on functionality, speed, and power rather than ease of
installment, beefing of logs, bells and whistles.

If you want a shrink wrapped package with install tools, and you want to
pay for any help you get along the way, try jrun at www.livesoftware.com
or ibm websphere at www.ibm.com.

If you want to be *part* of the apache jserv project, you can start by
submitting your explanation and fix to the "messed ip masquerading"
problems you experienced to the FAQ so that the next person who gets the
"connection failed" respons will have one more thing to check. It's your
job to make the FAQ more helpful. As a sign of thanks and respect for
their hard work. As a symbol of community and cooperation.

Sending inflamatory emails to the dedicated group of volunteers makes
their job that much more thankless. You're actually complaining that
they're not doing enough for you. What have you done for them? People
talk about it taking days to install it, forgetting about the months and
years it takes to develop it.

As far as the helpfulness of the "check the paths in your conf files"
suggestion, it helps. That's a good response. It's way way way better
than the websphere teams "please hold, we'll have an engineer get back to
you," or "we don't have any record of your service contract, let me
connect you to a sales representative".

THANK YOU apache and java apache team(s).
