And we all thank Sun for this.  It was during the pre-1.2 days that
we (blackdown) and mainly Steve found out that 1.2 was going to be in
a new license and that we will need to sign a new license to do the port.
(And pass the JCK, etc)

Well, since I am a blackdown license signer and happen to also have
access to alpha/linux systems (but not the time to do much with them since
I have a "full time" job) I would be happy to help finish the porting work.
I have twice started the effort only to end up with no time to continue
due to work and family.
