Further to this, I'd like to get information on Java 3D under
Linux/Solaris if anyone has any.
I've been unable to get more than a few frames/sec out of Java 3D on
either platform with a variety
of TNT, ATI and Sun Creator 3D graphics cards, whereas OpenGL (C) demos
fly on all machines.

Can someone give a step-by-step to make Java 3D work nicely on Linux, or
some tips on sorting
performance problems out?
