I still have to stand by my Dell Inspiron 5000e with the ATI Rage
Mobility 128 chipset.=A0 I've tried it in Win2k with DirectX and true
color and got good frame rates.=A0 I just got it back from the field =
last
week and tried J3D 1.2.1 Beta1 with my latest code and everything =
worked
great.
=A0
I believe the OpenGL driver worked well too, but don't remember if I =
had
any issues with it or not.

Subject: [JAVA3D] Laptop Update
Well, the purchase of a laptop isn't going as smoothly as I thought it
would.=20
I want a laptop on which I can run and develop Java 3D apps.=A0 I am =
told
that most Laptop PC do not have a fully compliant OpenGL graphics chip.
So, as mentioned before, I thought I'd buy the new Toshiba Satellite
2805-S402 with the GeForce2Go chip in it.=20
But I can't seem to find any!=A0 Toshiba doesn't sell them direct and =
all
the retail stores I go to say they don't have any, never did, and there
is no date when they will have them.
This might be a good thing.=A0 I looked a little closer at the =
2805-S402
spec and it come with a 800 x 600 (SVGA) 15" screen.
I don't consider that very good.=A0 I would like at least a =
1024x800.=A0=20
So, I am thinking of giving up on the Toshiba and looking something
else.=20
Any thoughts?=20
