No problem. It's easy to miss things whilst
trawling through the javadoc. I think a tutorial
on advanced uses of java3d would be very useful.
Just one comment on the z-buffer. You may have
difficulty interpreting the values as absolute
distances. My understanding is that this depends
upon the implementation of the renderer so can
vary on different graphics cards. If fact some
cards don't generate a z-buffer. If you need
absolute distances you can use this trick which
will always work.

If you're writing a raytracer you'll find it
easy to implement :-)
