Last year we noticed some differences in the display of textures and the
various min and max filters. I've not specifically studied the visual
differences but I believe also that fog will appear slightly different.
>From the little I've done I'd say on casual glance most people won't
notice the differences but with careful study I'm sure there are several
differences that would be noticed.
Also I'm sure most of the differences are video driver dependent too. I
read a couple years ago that each video card driver tends to implement a
different subset of DirectX features thus leading to various visual
differences. Perhaps Microsoft could comment on if video card
manufacturers are being more consistent in fully supporting DirectX now?
