Hi Joachim,

No worries. Just making sure my first post to the list wasn't the start of a
flame-war. I've been lurking on this list since Dec. 20th. :-)

So, I guess the order of question-asking should be something like this:

1. Is a Sun-blessed JDK included with this Linux for PS2 kit? (the URL Fred posted
suggests a possible yes)
2. If yes to 1, does this include Java3D capabilities?
3. If yes to 2, does it take advantage of any of the gaming-specific hardware
acceleration?
4. If yes to 1, does this include the Java Media framework?

The reasons why I'm personally interested in Java/3D for PS2 is the opportunity to use
the Java vncviewer client on it, and by extension my dabblings in a 3D extension of
the vncviewer. i.e. use the VNC served graphics as a texture for 3D objects, and when
an object is selected, pass I/O to the connected VNC server.

I'm still gathering together the pieces to implement my ideas (a la GPL, naturally
:-), but it doesn't look like it will be too difficult...

Once upon a time this was my 1998/9 idea: http://www.plumb.org/vowm/
...which was preceded by this one in 1995:
http://www.plumb.org/tekmage/vr/vr.ideas.html

Technology has finally caught up, my ideas have had a chance to mature some more, and
most of the concepts I had in mind are already partially implemented. It's only a
matter of putting the pieces together now. :-)

Andrew.
