Hi, I have no problems with using a JSplitpane to divide the Canvas3D and my swing components. I put the canvas on a JPanel which has a custom LayoutManager. I had the same problem and the LayoutManager seems to be a good solution. I did this over a year ago but I think it does have something to do with the minimum size of the Canvas3D is set to a default value, so this has to be changed to what you want.
The only problem is occasionally when you move the slider too fast the Canvas3D will overlap the slider a little, but another resize fixes this. Hop this helps, Dave. -----Original Message----- From: Discussion list for Java 3D API [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Jenkins, Todd (HOU) Sent: Tuesday, February 26, 2002 8:50 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [JAVA3D] Canvas3D & JSplitPane Brad, I put my navigation panel in a split pane and it is either open or closed (using the setOneTouchExpandable method), but I do not provide partially opened/closed settings. You might be able to do this by stopping the view renderer when the divider gets a mouse pressed event and replacing the Canvas3D with a JPanel and then vice versa on mouse released. Actually, on second thought a better idea would be to use panel buttons, similar to jEdit (jedit.org), along the window edge. They would open and switch between UI panels when required and hide them when they are not required. -Todd -----Original Message----- From: Brad Urani [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, February 25, 2002 3:14 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [JAVA3D] Canvas3D & JSplitPane I've put my canvas3D in a JSplitPane but I can only make the window its in get bigger when I drag the splitter to the right. When I try to drag the split bar back left again it won't move. I tried using the .setMinimumSize() methods like the tutorial said, but the Canvas3D class doesn't have these methods. Any help would be appreciated. -Brad ===== 3790 Colorado Ave. G Mobile: (303)641-8936 Boulder, CO eFax: (305)723-2968 80303 [EMAIL PROTECTED] __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
