Hi all, I am new to Java3D. I have a Java 3D application that extends JFrame that I want to be called by my main application and display the results .. instead of in the separate Frame, on a JPanel which is part of my complex GUI. Can i have the JPanel extend Canvas3D? after that i am unsure of how to proceed, in order to call this procedure and point it to the JPanel. Any ideas are much appreciated.
also i was wondering if someone might have an idea for my other issue: I'm using the J3D.org ElevationGridGenerator and it is fine for the terrains that have values at sea level (example min elevation 0, max elevation 76) but for a file which contains elevations above sea level (example min elevation 1300, max elevation 3500). What i would like to do is be able to set the view (Im using a SimpleUniverse) to always look at the Shape3D that is the terrain. I cant have it hard set because I dont know which file the user might open, I need it to put the view in front of the object no matter where it is. I was thinking I can just take the minimum elevation level and set the view to that value on the y axis. Does this sound like a good idea or is there a better way? Any and all help is much appreciated, Thank you, Eryk __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Try FREE Yahoo!
