Hi Olivier! > how can I get the volume and the surface of a 3D object in java3d?
In order to compute the area covered by the Shape3D's geometry, you could sum up all the areas of the polygons that the shape consists of. A triangle's area can be calculated by the cross product between two of the triangle's edge vectors. The absolute length of the resulting vector is the area. Further information can be found in section 2.01 of the comp.graphics.algorithms faq (see http://www.faqs.org/faqs/graphics/algorithms-faq/). There is also an algorithm for computing the volume of a polyhedron in section 5.19 of this faq. Probably this will help.
