It should be noted that I'm using the XJ3D toolkit specifically for the XML capabilities. In one case, I'm going to be generating the XML via a stylesheet transformation. In another, I'm going to be using a high level API like JAXB (Java API for XML Binding) to programatically create content using it's clean, Schema generated API (when an X3D schema becomes available). I'm commiting heavily to XML in all that I do, and this valuable toolkit will provide much needed functionality.

For those wondering what the posted nslcpac.x3d file would like like, look here ( attached ). Attached: sc_navy_slc_java3d.jpg Screen Capture of: navy_SeaLift_Command_Pac.wrl rendered with Java3d using the Sun VRML Loaders. VRML ( .wrl ) file converted from posted "nslcpac.x3d" file. The VRML file is smaller, more human readable, and has extra text strings in Billboard nodes : ( " Navy Sea Lift Command ", "Sun VRML Loaders" ) and probably can be installed with fewer installation problems than the alternative. The added text was derived from below, as you can see here: http://cic.nist.gov/vrml/nistlogo.wrl http://www.frontiernet.net/~imaging/sc_nist_logo_java3d.jpg http://cic.nist.gov/vrml/vbdetect.html http://www.frontiernet.net/~imaging/games_with_java3d.html | Date: Sat, 18 Jan 2003 ... | From: "Michael P.
