I am using a Compaq Evo N800v. It has a 64MB ATI Radeon 7500.
Performs well using Java/Java3D and VRML. You need the latest release
of java (1.4.1_2) as
1.4.1 has some problem with DirectX/Direct3D (and I in one bug report it
may also be releated to the ATI drivers)
- nasty problem causing the whole system to reboot. 1.4.1_2 is nice and
stable in this respect.

You can now get faster mobile chipsets - the M9 (mobile ATI Radeon 9700)
and GeForce4 chipsets.

I noticed quite alot of you guys seem to be using them and was hoping for
some buying advice.

1) Which is the better mobile card (Nvidia or ATI) ?
2) How do mobile relate in performance to desktop cards ?
3) Can I expect to run J3D comfortably on a laptop ?

Finally, any help is much appreciated, as are recommendations for
particular specs.
