Don't think so. There already is an 'efficient opengl-based scene graph
written in Java'.

Yes, me. It was about vertex/pixel shader programming. If you are familiar
with the basic ideas of that, there wasn't anything new (which in principle
was true for all JavaOne sessions I visited).
