Hi,

I am new to 3D stuff and I would like a rough idea of whether it is
possible to embed (that is, to transform) a 2D graph so that it can
be rotated in 3D and look "correct". The graph in question is not
a static image held in file or memory but something that must be
drawn and possibly updated frequently. Furthermore it is drawn
using a closed-source third-party library.

Then I want to add some simple objects to the scene and "attach"
them to specific points in the 2D graph in question, identified by their
x-y coordinates in that plane. But I assume that this part is relatively
easy.

Thanks for any leads,
