I think you misunderstood my point:  OpenGL applications seem to run nicely
on an out-of-the-box Mac (or fresh Mac OS X) install.  Obviously, you have to
have the appropriate drivers, but Apple appears to have done a pretty good of
getting OpenGL-accelerated ones to you, atleast as far as we can tell.  (Which
is what I'd expect, if what they say about Quartz Extreme is true.)

But anyway, on the Windows end, these folks run Windows Update, but I guess
that isn't enough.  They seemed to report getting reasonable performance on
simple Direct3D apps, though...
