Don't think it has anything to do with 2D graphics performance at the
driver level, even an embedded Intel chipset runs Compiz flawlessly on
my D420. I think Java UI performance has more to with X-windows and
the dispatching of events through the associated layers of the stack.
Even if now using Cairo, Firefox on Linux still scrolls slower than on
WIndows, especially for embedded content like Flash.
