I agree with, at least partially. NB works fine for me. e.g. No blank dialogs as mentioned earlier, but the UI performance is quite poor. Firefox is horrible too.
My laptop is getting a little long in the tooth and it has an ATI card in it, but Windows GUI performance was fine. I wonder if the XRender Java changes mentioned on the Posse a little while ago would make a difference.
