Please re-read what Project Semplica was all about. It didn't create
Java apps with win32 calls.
That's not the point!.

The point was bringing people with Visual Basic skills to the java
platform, let them write in what they know and compile
their basic typing as Java apps. Additionaly, it let you import VB6
projects so they could re-use GUIs developed on the VB ide.
