I disagree.

Until the acquisition goes through, engineers at Sun will not get a
firm commitment from Oracle that their job is safe. That includes
mine, even though Larry made some public statements about JavaFX that
are quite encouraging.

This was a great opportunity for Engine Yard to pick up 3 brilliant
engineers. I know others at Sun who have been propositioned with job
offers too.

This is not Sun losing interest in JRuby - this wasn't a initiated by
Sun, and as you can see from their statements they were all happy with
their backing from Sun.

It's also not a "sign" of things to come from Oracle; Oracle cannot
legally make commitments yet, so this was merely a "let's take safe
route A before we know if route B is safe".
