Hi Alan, even though I understand the sentiment, I think you are being hopelessly naive.
To state that we shouldn't be allowed to question their motives or express opinions about their motives is being unrealistic in this modern age with these modern tools in this modern medium. They are not professional journalists so no one is going to sue them, fine them or take them to court (hopefully) but if they say something out of line or seems to smell funny, we as listeners, have every right to question them. They are not above criticism and if they have a problem with criticism they should not be broadcasting in a public medium. These (wonderful) 4 guys are taking time out of their day to produce this podcast on a topic I hold dearly. I understand that and appreciate it too. If I had been physically present when Joe made his remarks about "are you a communist" I would have said something about his Apple bias. I would have said that even though I was his friend. I think thats the community we have here - all friends, and fellow professionals who can express their opinions and be questioned on them without fear. A lot of internet groups and forums degenerate into name-calling and similar juvenile tactics and I am glad to say this is not one of them. Sure, disagree - but don't say "member X should > not express their opinion on topic Y".
