Good point, still one must elevate the opinions on those who have chosen to take active part of the community. These are more likely to have tried alternatives and having formed objective opinions on the matter.
JSF may be relatively popular, but I think that comes down to corporations liking standards (safely, predictability, hireability) more than actual merits of the framework itself. It's not always the best solution that becomes standard. I'm also biased, belonging to the category of developers who wants to take advantage of their existing OO skills and tools, rather than messing around in an arbitrary tag soup which is only validated at runtime.
