In France, we also got an extended vacation with this purpose in mind.

Actually this is funny, because most people are under the impression that
more vacation (or getting money from the state while you are unemployed for
that matter) are socialist or even communist ideas. But down the road, they
are truly a capitalist oriented idea : "We don't care that you don't work or
you don't even have money, as long as you keep consuming ! ! !"
