In Brazil we have officially 30 days off per year. Most companies give you the option to take parts of these days during the year (10 + 20, 15 +15 etc) If the company doesn't give to the employee a vacation in two years, there's a penalty! Sick leaving you have 15 days at most paid by the company, after that period it'll be paid by the government (but in fact you must prove you aren't bad well to the go back to work).
In maternity leave, the woman has 6 months (paid by the government) and the man has 4 days (paid by the company).
