To be fair, Cédric was talking from his experience and said so. I see questions about Netbeans from newbie Java programmers in freenode's ##java, and my co-worker uses it for one project out of habit (Eclipse for the others, he has no taste!). Other than that the only contact I have with Netbeans is deleting the ridiculous GroupLayout code people generate with it.
