It seems to me that this view of JavaScript comes mainly from people that have used JavaScript in the past and disliked it due to seeing lots of badly written code and issues with the DOM API. I've yet to hear someone that has read the book "JavaScript: The Good Parts" say they still think JavaScript is a bad language ... unless they dislike all dynamically typed languages. -- R.
