The biggest UI I built was for an Energy Management System, you know the stuff that controls how to do energy transmission from generation to your local substation, all done in Java, and not really possible with the web alternatives people like to brag about (try doing complex multi mode window manager and super fast network renderer in Javascript + HTML).
