There's no "patent toll booth" for MP3, with Fraunhofer Institute
probably collecting most patent revenues (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
MP3#Licensing_and_patent_issues).  I don't know whether Google pays
royalties for MP3 decoders in Chrome.
