For the most part, qi4j functionality has been more effectively
subsumed into other jvm languages with a great deal more elegance,
this was actually one of the stronger drivers behind my interest in Scala.
To get a better feel for the principles involved, I'd strongly anyone
interested to run a web search for the "DCI pattern" and do a bit of
background reading.
Yes. In fact I started moving in that direction when I learned about DCI
from Jarda Tulach and Geertjan Wielenga, I think two years ago.
I agree on your view about Java's syntax. My point is that if you want
to stay with Java and those ideas you need to accept a bit of more
verbosity; some things can be fixed with Java 6 and annotation
processors (I wonder why at Qi4j they decided not to go that way),
others just can't so you have to work it out mostly at design level and
"traditional" code. Furthermore, I don't like some extra complexity
(which for many customers is already too complex with languages that
better support those ideas, such as Scala).
