Well.... it's true that iOS isn't completely secure. Otherwise jail-breaking
wouldn't exist. Early on, you could jailbreak an iPhone simply by going to
a web page.

But, given the nature of Android and iOS, it's more likely that rogue
software/malware is going to make it onto the android market than iOS. Does
anyone disagree with that?

On the Android market, there is no human (or software) filter. Anyone can
publish anything. And anyone can try to make their app look to be another
app (use similar name, similar description). So someone could think they
are downloading the obviously safe (for example) New York Times app, but
instead they are downloading a rogue app. In iOS this scenario is unlikely
as Apple isn't going to let an app pretending to be a NYT app in the app
store next to the real thing.

It's tough to find everything though, they'd have to monitor all the HTTP
output from every app and evaluate whether the messages are legit. But if
they suspect something, at least there is some provision to do a deep
evaluation on a suspect app (although no one knows the details on this, how
many apps are rejected because of this)....

Apple definitely won't catch everything. But they will catch SOME things
(hopefully, most!). Android won't catch ANYTHING right now - until it's
reported by a user (or am I missing something?)

On the downside of course - developers have to wait 10 days to get an update
out. And this does suck.
