Overall I like the new direction of JavaFx 2.0. I am not particularly fond of the way they did properties (DoubleProperty, LongProperty etc) it seems little verbose for my likings. I would rather see properties implemented at the language level.
I am both excited and curious for the forthcoming FXML - the declarative way to layout user interface components (not in the beta).
