I'm in Rochester NY and although the apps are complex (payroll, telecom, publishing, health insurance are big here), there's nothing very advanced technically. Aside from being a University professor certainly nothing requiring a PhD, and only a handful of positions where masters-level work would be required.
That being said, it's a great area to raise a family in with a low cost of living, and the market for both kinds of developers (Java and .Net, natch :-) ) is finally starting to pick up enough that companies are beginning to worry about retention. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Java Posse" group.
