What are we talking about? Eclipse the IDE is much more spread than IDEA, even nobody is questioning that IDEA is superior.
For the rest, Eclipse is also a platform for making rich clients, such as NetBeans, and while you find lots of usages of the the NetBeans and Eclipse platforms (both componentized) I don't think you find anything which is based onthe IDEA Platform.
