Nice once, David. ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Ferrin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, March 13, 2007 1:01 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Re: FINDING YOUR REMAINING MEMORY
I think that the problem is some times in an email message the words come across but not the meaning in such cases. So as a result a person might not intend to offend, but it does happen even to the most well meaning of us. Your directions were correct if in fact John's status bar would have been turned on, which is what I had him do when he called me. This makes me consider the fact that in the future when any of us post instructions we should all be even more mindful of leaving no stone unturned in the details department. My wife even said last night that she didn't know you could turn off your status bar, since she's never seen a computer set that way, so I told her that it is and always been a toggle kind of thing. So now that I've given everybody two things to think about I'll climb down off my soap box, good thing I'm not afraid of heights. No, I have not been in 'a lot of trouble here before', with one thing or another. Neither was I being rude or abrupt - just saying what I 'saw'. I didn't know that you had the status bar off. that it was which caused what works for me, not to work for you. ----- Original Message ----- >From: "John Justice" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, March 13, 2007 12:25 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Re: FINDING YOUR REMAINING MEMORY In every class I have taught about computers, the term "memory capacity" is often used to refer to the computer's ability to store data. Perhaps it is a turn of phrase with which you aren't familiar. Unfortunately, I followed your directions using Jaws and did not get the result you indicated. The message referred to "MS DOS CAPACITY 0" and that's nonsense. According to my Disk Defragmenter, I have 63% remaining which is far from 0. I believe that there might be a step missing or that I am misunderstanding your directions. Finally, I would like to suggest that you avoid being quite so abrupt and rude in future. I have seen you in a lot of trouble here before and many people were happy and willing to assist you. Your lack of familiarity with the terms I used is no excuse for rudeness, especially given the fact that I made a reasonable request in a polite and non-confrontational manner. How soon we forget Flore.
