In my opinion it is more efficient to use a pop 3 client such as Outlook
Express ETC. Being networked isn't an issue as a rule. JAWS has nothing to
do with blocking pop up windows. He can use fire fox if he wishes. Norton is
an extreme resource hog and as such may very well interfere with the smooth
operation of a system using such a memory intensive an application as JAWS.
So far as your last question I have no idea at all. There were a lot of
questions here, I hope I've answered them all to your satisfaction.

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] When a New Jaws User

Is it a good idea to start doing email on yahoo, or would Outlook Express be
easier for someone who is really computer illiterate? I ask this because I
have a blind friend who wants to use email, and he says he and his wife's
computerare networked together. I'm not sure what difference that would
make to him and why he couldn't use a different email system. Does jaws
completely block pop-ups now? He also wants to use Mozilla Fire Fox.

Another question. He has the Norton anti-virus system in his computer. I
had difficulty when I was using Norton and now use AVG. It seemed like
Norton interfered with jaws. I tried to explain to him that this could
happen, but he sees jaws and an anti-virus program as two completely
separate things. He says jaws is a screen reader, and can see no reason why
anything else should matter.

He doesn't have a lot of patience and is thinking he just might give his
computer to his sighted son and take jaws out, never having used it. Will
Freedom Scientific do anything to compensate the buyer if he has never used
the program?

Thanks for answering all my questions.
