Sorry, I'm coming in late on this thread and have missed the original
question.  Sarah, I'm curious.  Why is it you chose to have your incoming
email scanning turned off?  Is it a downloading speed issue or does it
conflict with JAWS in some way? 

I use Nod32, and I believe it scans incoming email by default.  I haven't
had it on my computer that long and really hadn't investigated it
thoroughly.  I suppose it does.  But it seems to me I'd want it to if I
found out that it didn't.

Nope I didn't. I have my preview pain turned off and I do not open any
attachments at all unless I  know who they come from and I scann them with
avg before I open them anyways.
