To do this, go to the file menu in Outlook and then select the data file management option. Press the tab key and you should then be in a list view showing a list of your PST folders. Select the personal PST folder file and then press the tab key until you reach the settings button. Press the space bar and a dialog will open. Press the tab key until you reach the compact now button. Press the space bar and your personal folder file will be compacted. Hopefully, this will solve your problem.
