One factor, not yet mentioned in this thread, which is extremely important, is what do you do if the machine needs repair. My experience is that laptops are far less durable than desktops, especially with heavy use. The question is for any brand you buy, can you get it fixed locally or do you have to ship it out of state; and how long are you going to be without a machine that you may be depending upon for your job or for your education.
