My process is thus:

Note: space is replaced with the space character. The word is used for
clarity.

1. Search for space ^p and replace all with ^p
2. Search for ^space and replace all with ^p
3. Search for ^p^p^p and replace all with ^p^p
Repeat step 3 until no more are found.

Then run the search and replace again, and again if need be. Or it's
possible you have a symbol between paragraph marks, such as a space or tab.
Find an example of extra lines and move character by character to find out
what's there. If you post back with the results, there'll be specific
answers. I could come up with so many possibilities, I'd be writing all
evening.

Thanks-I have a reversal problem I guess. I put in the ^p multiple times
(4) and once in the replace field. It told me that it made over 200
replacements but I still have the 4 blank lines between each entry in the
list.

You're hitting the 5 and not the 6, unless you have a keyboard that has a
mind of its own.
Take care

Adrian, when I open the find and replace and type in the shift-6 I get the
percent sign, %, so what am I doing wrong? Thanks for your patience.

Wayne,

The search term for the paragraph mark is ^p That is, shift-6 on the number
row followed immediately by the letter p.

You could put six of those two-character symbols in the "search" field and
either one or two in the "replace field.

If you run into problems, please post again.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Deleting extra blank lines in Word doc

Hello-

I think this may have been answered before but I can't find it. I am
copying and pasting lists from a website into a MS Word 2007 or 2010 doc and
I am left with about 6 blank lines before and after each line of text. How
can I get rid of the extra blank lines?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Wayne
