Are you opening the JAWS quick settings menu with Word open and focus in Word? Once the dialog is open, type "line" in the edit field and arrow down through the results.

Trying doing the following: 1. Open JAWS Quick Menu with Insert+v 2. Navigate down to Edit Options. 3. Navigate down to New line and paragraph indication. 4. Press space bar until you hear "Off". 5. Tab to OK and press space. Let us know if this does the trick.
