Hi, Rebecca. Nice to know when a suggestion works for others, as yours have
done for me. And I agree, better to have a little security inconvenience than
risk exposure to something nasty.

change?

Thank you, Adrian.
I have Outlook 2010 and JAWS 2018, though the problem happened with JAWS 18
too. I'd gone into the Quick Settings menu and unchecked all the options for
tables. That made reading much easier. But today I got an email from a
company that was missing half its usual content. So I followed your
instructions, and got a warning that possibly harmful content would not be
blocked. I trust this company so chose to open the message in the web browser.
All the usual content magically reappeared.
Sometimes there is an option when we open a message to "click here" to open the
message in the web browser if the message is not displaying properly.
But sometimes JAWS reads this, but there's nothing in the message to arrow to,
to read the message and click. There probably would have been if I'd used the
JAWS cursor. Smile. I just hadn't thought to search the ribbon for options.
There may be security settings in Outlook that could be changed, but I'd rather
deal with messages on an individual basis.
Rebecca

It tends to happen with lengthy messages that contain tables. It also happens
more often with JAWS 2018 than JAWS 18. I just now had to switch from 2018 to
18 to read such a message.
That said, the IE method takes little time and sometimes has the advantage of
putting me on the Web, where I'm likely to link from anyway.

I appreciate that, Adrian, but it shouldn't be happening AT ALL.
Are you saying this happens to you as well?
I'd be curious how many others are experiencing this issue.

Here's how I handle this problem with Outlook 2010. I put the message in
Internet Explorer by pressing alt-h, wait a moment, then a, then v. JAWS tends
to read such messages fine in this window.

I'm using the latest JAWS and Outlook-2010. Very frequently, for no apparent
reason, JAWS messages in Outlook become very difficult to read. Instead of a
nice and readable message, JAWS will say stuff like: nesting level x; table;
nesting level 3, etc etc; the actual text is very difficult to read.

Exiting JAWS and restarting the program fixes the problem for a while.
What's going on and how can I fix it?

Thanks. John
