Hi Debbie. At first, check that Adobe reader is correct configuured, and set to not open pdf documents in the web browser. Next, if a pdf document from a web page not is beeing opened,, than try to download it to the harddisk, amd open it from a local folder there. It is done with a right click on the link to the pdf document on the web page, and save target as.
If the pdf document still not gives any result, it is because it is a picture, and must be recognized by a ocr program. If you have Omnipage on the computer, try to right click on the document from the local folder, and select Omnipage, and open the submenu, and than convert to MS Word. Than the picture will be recognized, and be readable as text in word. Good luck!
