You would use the letters instead of the numbers you are use to. Like the letter K would be the replacement for the number five that you are use to. You could also turn on keyboard help by pressing the caps lock key with the number 1 in the top row. It wil say keyboard on or off, once it's on you can push key combinations and it will tell you what the key stroke combinations do. Hope this helps.
