This is because of the way in which the computer organizes files. Go to my computer, go into the drive you desire such as the C drive which is usually called local, or local drive, go to the view menu and scroll down until you hear "list." Then you will get your file list in 1, 2, 3 order.

JAWS seems to read every third file. I will hit the "say line" and JAWS reads the name of the file and says 11 of 83. I down arrow once and it says the name of the file 14 of 83.
