Your laptop should at least be able to detect the presence of a wireless
network. Are you sure that they have one? If their wireless network is
secure, you won't actually be able to connect without entering their
network encryption key, which they would have to give you.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Questionabout wireless cards and not being able
too connect when visiting while I'm in Michigan.

Hello everyone,

Could anyone on this list that's familiar with wireless cards, with lap
top computers, please give me instructions on the following problem.

Whenever I visit my nieceshouse and try to use my lap top computer, I'm
unable too pick upany signal. She and her husband are connectedtoo com
cast
cable. Does anyone know if their's some kind of specific code that they
use
so that I can have my wireless card on my lap top computerconnect and be

able too receive a signal? Also, is this considered illegal?Because if
it
is, That's something that I don't want too do at any cost. I also
experience
this same sortof problem when I'm visiting my girl friends house, even
though she only livs six floors above me. We both use Verizon as our
inter
net provider.
