I always went for the presumption that if the defragmenter tells you that
"this volume doesn't require defragmenting..." or whatever, then don't do
it, otherwise you'll cause unnecessary wear and tear on the hard drive.

Hi all. I'm considering defragging my hard drive, but I had a strange
issue that I'm wondering about. When I do it, and hit theanalyze button
I'm told that this drive doesn't need to be defragged. I have never
defragged my hardrive, so I was wondering why I was getting this message.
Should I defrag any way? I'm using windows XP sp 3.
