You should download I.E. 6 directly from Microsoft. Then, uninstall I.E. 8
completely. Finally, install I.E. 6; like most MS products, it
self-installs.
You might get a warning when uninstalling I.E. 8 that other programs
installed after I.E. 8 was installed might not function properly. Unless
these are apps which access the Internet (including some media players
etc.), you might also want to uninstall those prior to installing the older
Internet Explorer.
I have been struggling with I.E. 7; 8 didn't work with my version of JAWS
(7.10)...but I.E. 7 is no better. I myself am doing the process I described
above, today.
