Thanks for the update. Please keep the group informed on the
pros & cons. For now, I'll continue with Avast, although
that only provides virus protection. I've contemplated
installing Super Anti Spy ware but now am hesitant if I may
go to MSE. I'll be interested to hear of other folks
experience too

Hi Al,

I removed Trend Micro Antivirus which came on my laptop with
a 3 year
subscription.  I still have at least a year left but was
ready to dump it
anyway.  It can be very annoying!  Security Essentials does
a thorough scan
in about the same time with less load.  Of course, it does
add load and slow
things down some, but it did not effect JAWS speaking at
all.  Trend Micro
would pop up unexpectedly while typing and would slow down
the system even
just reading mail!  If Security Essentials does not work
out, I probably
will run Avast or A V G.
