Hello there;

if you want to hear 1/8/2011,
as; January 8 2011,

do the following,

1, open MSWord,

2, insert+f2=jaws manager,

3, press the letter "s"=settings center,
press enter,

4, arrow down to text processing, and right arrow to open,

5, arrow down to #&date processing right arrow to open,

6, on the Numeric Date Processing
press spacebar until you hear,
extended translation,

now tab okay press enter.

now you should get your desired result.
hope this helps.

Mike,

For JAWS versions earlier than 12, your instructions were certainly correct. In 12, all one had to do is, open the Center; then in the search edit, type enhanced, then tab after the list of results, of which there is 1 (in Microsoft word), and then check the checkbox. OK.

Hi Flor;

Yes sir, you are most certainly correct. I screwed up by calling the settings center the configuration manager but, giving steps for navigating

the Settings Center in JAWS12 (instead of the Config manager) makes that
 job way easier.
