Victoria,

Unnecessary. you can have the two open separately at the same time, even on the same page. they don't interfere with each other. You can alt-tab from one to the other. .

Thank you All who gave me feedback on my question of Firefox verses Internet Explorer! Your answers were very informative!

My conclusion, is to try Firefox, but not to c to be any more perfect than IE. However, I don't know how to set Fire Fox up as an alternative search engine.

Let's say, I had IE open and was not happy with my search results; how do I now put IE to sleep and bring up Firefox?

Again many thanks to all! Vicky

I use both Internet Explorer and FireFox and find them to be pretty similar in accessibility.

Webvisum is mainly just used for solving CAPTCHAs and isn't required for a screen reader to work with FireFox. You no longer need an invite to get a webvisum plugin. You can just sign up and get one.

As far as flash goes, it is hit or miss on both sides. Listening to samples on audible.com has been a problem for a long time. Apparently in JAWS 12 it is no longer a problem. also System Access seems to have had no issue with the samples for a while now. Having said that, running JAWS 11 I cannot easily access samples on audible.com using Internet Explorer, but have no problem accessing them when using FireFox.

I see no reason not to have both browsers on your machine. It is very nice to know that you can easily try a second browser if one is giving you trouble. Also, the ability to automatically solve CAPTCHAs is extremely satisfying.
